{"id":629,"date":"2010-06-07T05:01:01","date_gmt":"2010-06-07T03:01:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/142.93.241.207\/?p=629"},"modified":"2010-06-07T05:06:23","modified_gmt":"2010-06-07T03:06:23","slug":"some-updates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.albertopassalacqua.com\/?p=629","title":{"rendered":"Some updates&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">May has been quite a busy month, traveling around US for meetings and conferences:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>On May 4 &#8211; 6, I&#8217;ve been at the NETL 2010 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.netl.doe.gov\/publications\/proceedings\/10\/mfsw\/\" target=\"_blank\">Workshop on Multiphase Flow Science<\/a> where I gave a talk on the progress made with quadrature-based moment methods for gas-particle flows in Prof. Fox research group.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">On May 24 &#8211; 26, I&#8217;ve been at a very interesting conference on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.math.wisc.edu\/cmmse\/\">Computational and Mathematical Methods in Science and Engineering<\/a>, in the Mathematics Department of the University of Wisconsin &#8211; Madison, where I&#8217;ve been kindly invited by Prof. Shi Jin to give a talk on quadrature-based moment methods for gas-particle flows.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">On May 31 &#8211; June 4 I&#8217;ve been at the <a href=\"http:\/\/conferences.dce.ufl.edu\/ICMF2010\/\" target=\"_blank\">International Conference of Multiphase Flow<\/a>, in Tampa, Florida. If you&#8217;re interested in the paper I presented at ICMF, you can find it <a href=\"http:\/\/dl.dropbox.com\/u\/659842\/Blog\/Papers\/ICMF2010\/ICMF_PassalacquaFox_2010.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>, while the paper presented by Varun Vikas is <a href=\"http:\/\/dl.dropbox.com\/u\/659842\/Blog\/Papers\/ICMF2010\/VikasWPF-ICMF2010.pdf\">here<\/a>. Tampa is a wonderful place, with a very nice sun! I met some colleague from Europe I only knew by email before, and it has been a pleasure to meet in person and discuss of our work.
